  • LiteSpeed Hosting: Why Your Website Will Be Faster
11 Oct 2026

Website speed is not just a matter of convenience. Visitors abandon a site if it loads slowly, and Google uses speed as a ranking factor. Much of the speed depends on the web server on which the hosting is running.

What is LiteSpeed Web Server?

LiteSpeed is a web server — the software that receives requests from browsers and delivers pages. It is compatible with Apache (understands the same .htaccess rules), but is built on an architecture that handles many more concurrent visitors with less memory. That's why all of our hosting servers run on LiteSpeed.

Why LiteSpeed is faster

  • Event-oriented architecture — thousands of connections are served without opening a separate process for each one.
  • Built-in cache (LSCache) — finished pages are stored in memory and sent immediately, without re-executing PHP.
  • LSAPI for PHP — faster communication between the server and PHP than standard methods.
  • HTTP/2 and HTTP/3 (QUIC) — modern protocols that load resources in parallel, especially faster on mobile networks.

How to use LSCache on WordPress

  1. In WordPress, open Plugins → Add New and search for "LiteSpeed Cache".
  2. Install and activate the add-on.
  3. In the settings, turn on Cache. The default settings are sufficient for most pages.
  4. Optionally include image optimization and CSS/JS minification — and make sure the page looks the same.

Important: Use only one cache plugin. If you already have WP Super Cache or W3 Total Cache, deactivate it before enabling LiteSpeed Cache.

CloudLinux: stable performance

On shared hosting, one site with a lot of traffic can slow down others on the same server. We use CloudLinux, which isolates each account in its own "cell" with guaranteed resources (processor, memory, processes). The result is consistent speed, no matter what other sites are doing.

What else affects speed?

  • Large, unoptimized images — reduce them before uploading or use WebP.
  • Too many plugins — each plugin adds code that is executed.
  • Heavy themes and page builders — choose a lightweight theme.
  • Old PHP version — in cPanel, select the latest supported version.

Conclusion

A good web server is the foundation of a fast site. All of our hosting packages running on LiteSpeed and CloudLinux. Read more about the technologies we use on the page Infrastructure.
