An online store has different requirements from an ordinary site. Every shopper triggers multiple database requests, the cart cannot be fully cached, and every outage or slow page means a lost order. That is why, for a store, it matters more than ever that hosting is stable, secure and has clearly defined resources.
Below is what our packages include, how to choose between the small ones and business packages and what to check before you take the store live. You can test the site for 30 days.
What a store needs from its hosting
Speed with LiteSpeedLiteSpeed and LSCache cache the catalogue and product pages, so they load fast even under heavy traffic.
Isolation with CloudLinuxResources are limited per account. Another site's peaks on the server do not slow down your store.
SSL and protectionFree SSL for a secure checkout and Imunify360 to protect the store from malware and known attacks.
Daily backupJetBackup keeps your orders, products and database safe. If something goes wrong, you restore from cPanel.
WooCommerce in one clickInstall WordPress with Softaculous, then add WooCommerce. No manual server setup.
Email on your own domainBusiness packages include 1000 email addresses, so orders and correspondence come from your own domain.
Which package for an online store?
If you are starting with a few dozen products and little traffic, A3 from the small packages (3,000 MKD per year, 5 GB, 2 cores, 2 GB memory) is a sensible start. Business packages start from B1 (5,500 MKD, 10 GB) and are built for sites with stable resources.
B2 (20 GB) is for stores with many products, B3 (30 GB, 3 cores, 3 GB memory) for busy sites with a larger database, and B4 (50 GB) for demanding, high-traffic projects. If you need full control and root access, take a look at VPS servers.
1Choose a package and a domainOrder a package and a domain. A .mk domain costs 900 MKD. Take a look at the domains.
2Install a storeWith Softaculous you install WordPress, then WooCommerce. We migrate an existing store for free.
3Set up products and paymentsAdd products, prices and shipping. Test the whole checkout with an order of your own.
4Go liveWith SSL and backups enabled, you launch the store. You can test it for the first 30 days.
What happens when a shopper opens a store
Pages that are cached and pages that are not
The catalogue, categories and product pages can be served from the cache, but the cart, checkout and login cannot. LiteSpeed with LSCache handles the first, and the server executes the rest. That is why the processor and memory in your package matter more than they do for an ordinary blog.
Why isolation matters
If another site on the server has a traffic peak, you do not want your checkout to wait. CloudLinux limits resources per account, and the business packages have higher limits: up to 3 cores and 3 GB of memory, and 500 processes per package.
Payment security
Every checkout must run over HTTPS. The free SSL is issued automatically, and Imunify360 protects the store from malware. Do not store card data on your own server; use a payment provider through its plugin instead.
Growth without moving
A store rarely stays the same. Start with the package that fits today, and when it grows, move up to the next one. For the most demanding projects, VPS gives you a whole server with root access, and also read how to choose a VPS package.
Checklist before you launch a store
SSL is enabled and the whole store opens over HTTPS, with no mixed content.
Place a test order from start to finish, on both phone and computer.
Product images are compressed so they load quickly.
Check that the daily backup exists and that you know how to restore from cPanel.
Order confirmation emails arrive and do not end up in spam.
Update WordPress, WooCommerce and your plugins, and delete the ones you do not use.
For a small store with a few dozen products, A3 from the small packages (5 GB, 2 cores). For more products, a larger database and more simultaneous shoppers, start from B2 (20 GB) from business packages.
Can I install WooCommerce?
Yes. WooCommerce is a WordPress plugin. First you install WordPress with Softaculous in cPanel, then you add WooCommerce from within WordPress itself.
Is SSL required for an online store?
Yes, for every page where shoppers enter data. The SSL certificate is free and is issued automatically for each domain. Read why HTTPS matters.
What if the store has many visitors at once?
LiteSpeed and LSCache serve cacheable pages from the cache, while CloudLinux isolates your account, so resources are limited per account. If the store grows, you move up to a larger package, and for special requirements we also offer VPS servers from 1,400 MKD per month.
How is order data stored?
JetBackup takes a daily backup of your files and database, and the copies are stored off the server. You restore them yourself from cPanel.
Can you migrate my existing store?
Yes, for free. We migrate the store with its database and files, and you test it on the new server before changing your DNS settings, so there is no downtime. More on the migration page.
